Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions.

Indoor/outdoor use: These units are suitable for indoor or outdoor use. If placed outdoors, it is recommended that they be in a roofed space to avoid deterioration from sun and rain. In addition, it is advisable to install them on a waterproof floor and/or with drainage, due to the possibility of condensation. If the tub is exposed to direct sunlight, the chiller will have to work much harder to maintain the desired temperature. The cooler the environment, the lower the power consumption.

Energy consumption: The chiller uses approximately 1 kWh/h while operating. When the target temperature is reached, the chiller stops working, similar to a refrigerator. Therefore, the consumption will depend on the ambient temperature, the hours of use and the price per kWh in your location.

Installation: The installation is very simple. Just fill it with water and connect it to the 110v electrical current. It is important that the outlet is grounded.

Condensation: Some condensation is normal, as there is a large differential between the ambient temperature and the temperature of the water in the vat. Despite the efforts of thermal insulation, all cold plunges present this phenomenon. If you find water droplets under your unit, it does not necessarily mean that there is a leak, it is most likely due to condensation.

Change of water: The tubs have a drain at the bottom with a hose coupling for easy emptying. It is recommended to change the water periodically according to use, since chlorine and salts should not be used in the units.

Cooling time: Cooling time depends on ambient temperature and water volume, but can be approximately 3 to 6 hours. Once the desired temperature is reached, it can be maintained 24/7 for maximum convenience or programmed to run only on specific days or times, thus conserving energy.

Frequency of water change: We recommend changing the water at least every 3-4 weeks if used daily in a residential environment. In commercial use, it may be necessary to change the water daily or weekly depending on traffic. To extend the time between changes, be sure to rinse before entering the tub, especially if you have used a sauna or are coming from exercise. Going directly from sauna to cold plunge will require more water changes due to perspiration entering the system. In commercial uses, require all users to shower before entering the cold plunge.

Maintenance: After each use, it is recommended to dry the outside of the tub to avoid stains and wear on the wood and steel. In addition, it is advisable to apply mineral oil to the wood periodically to maintain its natural shine. Paper filters should be changed periodically. Refer to the user's manual for more information on maintenance.
